Extras

The 28th Robert's buddy Joel celebrated the big 4 and it was a super hero swim party. We wrestled Robert into an 18month top and his bathing suit.

His new kick are shirts with pockets and loves to let his Toy Story friends ride around in there.

Life Lately and lots of videos

We are "cast free" which means so many wonderful things. We went to the zoo this past weekend and Robert has been enjoying life outside again. His water table is set up, pool inflated, sand table full and water table is filled.

Only the cool people have an inflatable pool in their kitchen

Side note: He is sporting the Justin B haircut
Robert has loved using the mixer (makes noise and he can dump things out in it) and baking. Here is Robert helping me make cookies:

After his cast was taken off we met up for lunch with Dad at the TC. Here is Robert talking about his cast coming off:

We also made these:
And have been eating this for dinner:
-I changed the name
-I don't use bacon
-I add diced tomatoes
-I used the entire bag of fresh spinach (not frozen)

The boken leg

Saturday the 9th we were reading before bed (Cat in the Hat) and Robert stood up to get another book, turned around and slipped on one that was on the floor. He cried and screamed and cried some more. It was a fall just like many times before but he kept asking to go to bed. We put him down and he went right to sleep. I called the on call Dr. and she said to look for swelling/black and blue coloring and if we did not see any we could wait until morning for an xray. We left him asleep but checked a few times with the flash light to see any signs of pain, swelling or discoloring. An hour later Robert woke up screaming and spent the rest of the night watching videos on the couch. Around 5am I rocked him to sleep and put him in our bed. By 8am we were at Solantic and ready for our xray. With in a few minutes they took us back, did the xray and told us that he had broken his tibia and put a splint on his leg.

Monday we followed up with the pediatrician and Tuesday we went to the orthopedic for the cast.

Lots of catching up...

Robert turned two and since posting has had 4 ear infections, strep and a broken leg. All of that hints to the lack of posting. We have also been busying working on the house. We took our the half bath mirror and got a new desk and bookshelves for the office.

The desk came and by the looks of these parts, you can tell how much fun it was. Robert was a great helper and we had it together in no time.

The bath before destruction (I will post an after sometime before 2014):

Robert also turned two and had a great party. We went construction themed and had all of his best friends, their parents and our family over. It was a great time and Robert totally was into it. His new favorite thing is birthday parties and loves to blow out candles and sing.

For the actual day of his birthday Dad took off and we went to the Zoo and Moes (Little Robert's favorite).

Caramel Rolls and such

We did make the caramel rolls and the were eh. This past week Dad celebrated the big 3-0. We met him for little Robert's favorite, California Pizza Kitchen for lunch and helped Dad open a pair of Costa Del Mar's. That night we had a few of his favorite desserts and his family over to help us eat them. We had carrot cake and I made banana pudding and the classic "yellow cake with chocolate icing." Little Robert was a huge help in making the cake and discovered he loves cake batter.

PW Cinnamon Rolls

We finally made them this week for bible study and they were totally worth the mess they made. Next up, we make the caramel version.

One Nap and A Broom

We are down to one nap a day and the sound of Robert's broom beating the wall is proof his nap is over.

This past week was a great week. Robert had his first circus experience and probably the best. We had a slight private showing (you could say) of the elephants and a few clowns. A nice clown walked up to Robert and said "Hey Buddy" to which Robert replied with the loudest scream I have ever heard. It was worse than a strep test. He screamed "UP" (aka hold me) and held on for dear life the rest of the morning. Regardless, I know he loved watching the elephants and talks about them daily.

Wednesday Robert shoved Three pretzel sticks into the electrical outlet. Fun. He also locked Macy and I out of the house. Great day.

We had some Ryland time on Friday which is always good. The boys feasted on some homemade whipped cream when I made this and played their hearts out.

Saturday we played at home and then Robert ate his first tortilla with queso at Moes. It was a big event. Sunday was Church and Robert took one of the best naps of his life after.

Earlier in the week we had this for dinner and it was totally worth the three pans to cook it and the giant mess it left behind. As a side note, I am a big Annie fan.

This week it is back to CBS and our regular routine.

Brownies and Spaghetti

Monday's weather sent us running from Publix to the car and kept us inside for the rest of the Day. Tuesday it was back to CBS and some much needed Ryland time. It had been way to long since the boys destroyed anything (together) and they enjoyed every minute of their reunion. Wednesday we made a quick trip (sarcasm emphasized on the word, "quick") to the Post Office. A lemonade stand would do well at the P.O. Even horrible lemonade at that. With a given 30 minutes to spend, refreshments are definitely in order. Thursday we were back to CBS and the pediatrician with another ear infection.

We did make some great stuff this week. Tuesday we made these brownies (picture from the website is horrible) and this spaghetti sauce (I toss the red wine, sausage and add shredded carrots and spinach).

Lately...

We did a little Christmas shopping for ourselves and came home with a blueray player. Talk about a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Directv is a long lost friend for sure. We have been busy with Netflixs and watching the Frey in concert. We just finished watching Food Inc. When you get past the propaganda and labeling, the basic idea/ information is definitely worth watching it for. The Beautiful Truth was also worth the time.

Robert has been busier than ever with all the new toys:

Going through pictures I remembered Christmas morning breakfast-to say it was good is an understatement. We had Sister Schuberts Rolls (below). Sister no doubt can bake.

We start back with are regular routine this week and it feels very different after such a great break and lots of family time.
Happy 2011!
