This past week was straight out of a parenting book. The chapter would have been on standing your ground while helping to transition strong willed children. I lost you, I know.
Monday night Robert decided the crib was overrated and better used for diving out of. Luckily we were watching the video monitor and saw it coming. We both nearly killed each other trying to get up the stairs to him. It was more of a speak later, move now type moment. Rather than discuss the child trying to crib dive, just run. We spent most of the night co sleeping with him checking in on us every few minutes with a whisper, "Mama?" and then a pat to the check. "Macy?" pat to the tail. "Dada?" reach with the arm. Tuesday night was somewhat better. Half way through the night we rocked and then returned to the crib. We missed Wednesdays Library day with a teething fever and massive sleep deprivation. By Saturday night we had a serious sit down talk and so far things are going better. After putting him down Saturday night he tried crib diving while I was leaving the room. I quickly responded and told him if he tried that again he would get a spanking. He said, "Spanking." and then did a pat to his leg. Cloud and Townsend would be so proud.
We had a great Coffee club Friday and a great dinner with friends that night. Saturday was more teething fun and a missed Halloween party.
This past week Robert also started eating rice and is really into shredded cheese. He really lives on the edge.
We made these brownies for Friday nights dinner, Monkey Bread muffins for Coffee club and tried this for dinner this past week.
